How to Find Out Where That Posting Is. Very Cool App to the Rescue!

How to Find Out Where That Posting Is. Very Cool App to the Rescue!

posted on June 10, 2011

Ever been frustrated because you don’t know the streets and neighborhoods well enough to know if a place for rent is right for you or not?

Ever juggled open browser windows between craigslist and Google maps? Or worse, tried to find the street on a paper map? Are maps getting in the way of your housemate process?

Never again.

Padmapper to the rescue.

It’s a browser app that integrates google maps with craigslist, apartment.com, and other listings. And it’s so cool and so intuitive that I’m not going to tell you what it does. Much more fun to discover all its neat features on your own.

A few hints of the cool stuff:

  • Filter by apartments or rooms/share
  • Map overlays for commuting time by walking or by car
  • Filter by rent, number of bedrooms, price of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, and other common concerns
  • Direct links to the postings
  • Easy links to street views
  • Integration with Walk Score®
  • Info on how long a listing has existed.
  • Mass transit overlays

Take a look, have fun.

Looking for a place to live has just gotten a whole lot easier.

What else would you like it to do?
