About Sharing Housing
Sharing Housing is a Vermont-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting shared housing as a practical solution to housing affordability and social isolation. Through books, online classes, free worksheets, and community education, we give individuals the tools to find compatible housemates and make shared housing work. Founded in 2017, the organization serves individuals, housing professionals, and aging-services organizations nationwide.
About Annamarie Pluhar

Annamarie Pluhar is the founder of Sharing Housing and the author of Sharing Housing: A Guidebook for Finding and Keeping Good Housemates, the Companion Workbook, and the Interviewing Guide. She has lived in shared housing for her entire adult life and brings a background in management consulting, instructional design, and pastoral counseling to her work as an educator and advocate. She founded Sharing Housing in 2017 after recognizing that shared housing is a social mission — a practical response to two of the most pressing issues of our time: housing unaffordability and loneliness.
